The Stainless Steel Branch of China Special Steel Association released the statistical data of China's stainless steel crude steel production in the first half of 2022 as follows:
1. In the first half of 2022, the national stainless steel crude steel production was 16.354 million tons, 908,000 tons less than the same period in the first half of 2021, a year-on-year decrease of 5.26%.
Among them, CR-Ni stainless steel production of 8023 million tons, compared with the same period decreased 288,000 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 3.46%, the share increased 0.91 percentage points to 46.06%; Cr-mn stainless steel production of 5.048 million tons, compared with the same period decreased by 391,000 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 7.19%, the share decreased by 0.64 percentage points to 30.86%; Cr stainless steel production of 3.132 million tons, compared with the same period decreased 249,000 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 7.36%, the share decreased 0.44 percentage points to 19.15%; Duplex stainless steel production of 152150 tons, compared with the same period increased 20451 tons, a year-on-year increase of 15.53%.
2. Total import and export volume: In the first half of 2022, China's total import of stainless steel was 1,68,500 tons, an increase of 276,600 tons compared with the same period, a year-on-year increase of 19.64%. Among them, steel billet import 918,800 tons, a year-on-year increase of 46.84%. Stainless steel scrap imports 27,200 tons.
In the first half of 2022, China exported a total of 2,421 million tons of stainless steel, an increase of 23200 tons compared with the same period, a year-on-year increase of 10.58%.
3. Apparent consumption: in the first half of 2022, the national stainless steel apparent consumption of 1400.50 million tons, compared with the same period reduced 796,000 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 5.38%.
