According to customs data, China's total imports of ferronickel in September 2020 were 340,900 tons, an increase of 49, 000 tons from the previous month, an increase of 16.79%; and an increase of 132,800 tons, an increase of 63.83% year-on-year.
Among them, China imported 257,300 tons of ferronickel from Indonesia in September, a month-on-month increase of 19,000 tons, an increase of 7.97%, and a year-on-year increase of 97,800 tons, an increase of 61.34%.
From January to September 2020, China's total imports of ferronickel will be 2.4583 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 86.73%. Among them, the import volume of ferronickel from Indonesia was 1.9701 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 114.67%.
According to customs data, China’s total nickel ore imports in September 2020 were 6.290 million tons, an increase of 2.4632 million tons from the previous month, an increase of 65.76%; a year-on-year decrease of 880,500 tons, a decrease of 12.42%.
Among them, in September, China imported a total of 5,488,200 tons of nickel ore from the Philippines, an increase of 2,104,100 tons from the previous month, an increase of 62.18%; an increase of 1,100,300 tons, an increase of 25.08%. The total amount of nickel ore imported from Indonesia was 295,300 tons, an increase of 214,400 tons from the previous month, an increase of 265.02%; a year-on-year decrease of 2,182,500 tons, a decrease of 88.08%. The total amount of nickel ore imported from other countries was 425,500 tons, an increase of 144,700 tons or 51.53% month-on-month; an increase of 201,700 tons or 90.12% year-on-year.
From January to September 2020, China's nickel ore imports totaled 27,256,200 tons, a year-on-year drop of 29.95%. Among them, China imported 21,935,500 tons of nickel ore from the Philippines, a year-on-year decrease of 749,900 tons, a decrease of 3.31%. The total nickel ore imported from Indonesia was 3.039 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 79.48%. The total amount of nickel ore imported from other countries was 2,281,800 tons, an increase of 868,400 tons or 61.44% year-on-year.
