Jakarta On August 9, Jonathan Handojo, the vice president of the Indonesian Nickel Smelter Association, expressed his opposition to the benchmark price of nickel ore in Indonesia set by the Indonesian Ministry of Energy and Mines during an interview, saying that the policy made it difficult for Indonesian nickel and iron smelters.


The vice chairman believes that the nickel ore benchmark price set by the Indonesian Ministry of Energy and Mines does not take into account the production and community costs of the smelter. Although the price should be in line with the international price, it must be based on the actual market situation in Indonesia. In addition, the vice chairman believes that the benchmark price formula is not It's reasonable. If it is calculated at London prices, the prices must be updated from time to time, but here it is only changed every three months.
