When we review the history of the past ten years, we find that the accidental incidents caused by stackers resulted in shocking casualties. However, when we analyze the occurrence of these accidents, it is not difficult to discover that these problems could have been easily avoided. Tragedies are terrifying, but they can also be easily prevented. Below are some key issues we have summarized, which can be made known to more enterprise personnel to prevent such tragedies from happening again.
1.The export of materials was not properly protected. Just having a warning sign or a workflow requiring isolation is far from sufficient. Safety management should be the last step to be considered in risk reduction.
2. During the maintenance work at the bottom of the stacking equipment, due to the absence of a mechanical locking device, the stacking device fell down, causing crushing injuries.
3. For those personnel who open the interlock switch and enter the dangerous area, due to the malfunction of the stacking lifting part, such as the breakage of the chain, if the stacking part does not have a mechanical locking device (mechanical stacker) or a check valve (hydraulic stacker), it will pose a risk of the stacking platform falling.
