Indonesia's state-owned miner PT Aneka Tambang (Antam) released unaudited results showing that its nickel ore production in 2020 was 4.76 million wet tons, down 45.3% from 8.7 million tons in 2019.
Its nickel ore sales were 3.3 million wet tons, down 56.7% from 7.62 million wet tons in 2019.
Antam nickel ore production was 1.9 million wet tons in the fourth quarter, up 28% from 1.49 million wet tons in the previous quarter.
Nickel ore sales were 2.09 million wet tons, up sharply from 1.04 million wet tons in the third quarter.
In addition, the company produced 25,970 tonnes of ferro-nickel in 2020, up from 25,713 tonnes in 2019;
Ferro-nickel sales fell slightly to 26,163 tonnes from 26,212 tonnes in 2019.
Antam's unaudited ferro-nickel production reached 6,837 tonnes in the fourth quarter of 2020, up 7% from 6,371 tonnes in the third quarter.
Ferro-nickel sales for the fourth quarter were 6, 639 tonnes, up 2 per cent from the previous quarter.
