PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (ANTAM) said PT ANTAM aims to produce 27,201 tonnes of ferro nickel (TNi) in 2023 in order to maintain the company's positive performance.
"With regard to ferro nickel products, ANTAM is targeting total ferro nickel production and sales volumes of 27,201 tonnes of nickel respectively by 2023. The production and sales targets for ferro nickel are up 12 percent each, compared with unaudited ferro nickel production of 24334 TNi in 2022 and unaudited Ferro nickel sales of 24210 TNi in 2022, "PT ANTAM said in ANTAM news on Nickel.co.id.
According to him, the company's production and sales targets for ferro nickel also take into account the optimum utilisation rate of ANTAM's ferro nickel plant in Kolaka, southeast Sulawesi, and the production contribution of ANTAM's Ferro nickel plant in East Hamahera, North Maluku.
"In nickel ore commodities, ANTAM is targeting a total nickel ore production of 11.3 million wet metric tons (wmt) by 2023." 'he said. He also expects ANTAM to sell 9.45 million metric tons of nickel ore in 2023, up 36 percent from unaudited nickel ore sales of 6.95 million metric tons in 2022.
PT ANTAM is also known by the IDX, ANTM, ASX and ATM codes, which are members of the Indonesian Mining Association (MIND ID). MIND ID itself is the holding company for BUMN Mining Industry.
ANTAM is currently completing the construction project of a nickel-iron plant and supporting facilities in East Hamahera with an annual capacity of 13,500 TNi.
In order to meet the power supply of the plant, ANTAM signed a memorandum of understanding or Power Purchase Agreement (PJBTL) with PT PLN in March 2022. Through this collaboration, ANTAM explained that in the first phase, PT PLN built a diesel and gas power plant (PLTDG) with a capacity of 15 megawatts (MW), which was first started up in December 2022. ANTAM has also signed a cooperation agreement with PT PLN to supply electricity for the operation of the nickel-iron plant in Kolaka, south-eastern Sulawesi, in January 2023. The partnership includes 150 megavolt-ampere (MVA) power supply for the plant over the next 16 years and 8 months, covering the power connection and operational phases.
In addition, he explained that according to the government plan, ANTAM is actively developing the nickel-based electric vehicle battery industry. This implementation is evidenced by the signing of a Conditional Share Purchase Agreement (" CSPA ") between ANTAM and Hong Kong CBL Limited (" HKCBL ").
"The signing of this CSPA is the first step towards achieving the implementation of the EV Battery Ecosystem Development project in Indonesia and reflects ANTAM's commitment to support the development of the EV Battery Ecosystem project," he concluded.
