Azur Minerals has resumed diamond drilling at the Andover Copper Nickel project in Western Australia.
Diamond drilling up to 30,000 m will be completed to define the mineral resources on the VC-07 wire.
Previous work on the VC-07 target included fixed loop electromagnetic measurements, diamond drilling and downhole electromagnetic measurements.
The diamond drilling uncovered extensive areas of nickel-copper sulfide mineralization, with nickel and copper grades up to 2.85%.
The VC-07 represents a continuum of bedrock encased sulfide mineralization that extends over 1,050 m with a dip Angle of more than 200 m.
Azure believes this highlights the goal of achieving substantial nickel-copper sulfide deposits.
The drilling will also test the VC-23 conductor, where historical drilling returned two meters of nickel with a 2.1% nickel content and 0.44% copper content.
The first two RIGS were drilled on-site and the third is expected to arrive in mid-January.
Managing Director Tony Rovira said: "With the confirmation of an important nickel-copper discovery in Anover, the Azure board is shifting the company's focus from exploring the VC-07 mineralized body to resource definition."
"While most of the planned drilling work will focus on the VC-07 conductor, the Andover mine is a target-rich environment for further nickel and copper sulfide discoveries," he said.
"Geophysical surveys have found many conductors indicating sulfide mineralization in bedrock, and the first expected target, VC-23, has started drilling," he added.
