On Nov. 25, BHP Western Mining, a wholly owned subsidiary of BHP Billiton, extended its bid for Noront Resources for a third time, from Nov. 30 to Dec. 14, to continue negotiations with Wyloo.
BHP offered C $0.75 per share for Canadian nickel developer Noront in October, trumping Wyloo's C $0.70 per share cash offer for Noront. Wyloo, which owns 37.2 per cent of Noront, is considering accepting BHP's offer. BHP billiton and Wyloo Metals have continued their dialogue and are considering a mutually beneficial arrangement for BHP billiton to acquire Noront, BHP said in a statement on Thursday.
