In a statement on Tuesday, BHP said it would study plans to expand output at its most profitable iron ore unit to 330 million tons a year and would continue to review options to boost copper and nickel production.


BHP's huge Canadian potash mine is still on track to start production in 2026. BHP's adjusted profit for the year ended June 30 totaled $23.8 billion, compared with expectations of $21.6 billion. The company will also pay a record final dividend of $3.25 per share.
