Mining news: The Indian state-owned company Hindustan Copper (HCL) has approved the construction of a new copper concentrate processing plant with an annual capacity of 3 million tons at its Malanjkhand copper mine project (MCP) in Madhya Pradesh. Canadian Ivanhoe Mines, after an earthquake event in May that forced drainage and reconstruction of the mine, lowered its 2026 copper production guidance for the Kamoac-Kakula project in the Democratic Republic of Congo from 380,000–420,000 tons to 290,000–330,000 tons.
