HOUSTON, September 10th (Argus) - The rare earth element recycling company Cyclic Materials has opened its first commercial-scale rare earth magnet recycling facility in Mesa, Arizona.
The company said on Wednesday that the plant produces rare earth magnet materials as well as copper, aluminum and steel materials.
The base has the capacity to handle up to 25,000 tons of annual magnet waste. So far, the company has received over 7,000 tons of raw materials for processing at this facility.
Cyclic expects to send the first batch of goods to customers later this month.
The company said in April last year that it had invested over 20 million US dollars in Arizona to establish a recycling facility, aiming to extract permanent magnets from scrapped components. The company is also developing another recycling facility in McBee, South Carolina.
