CHALICE Mining has seen more sulphide mineralisation at the Hooley prospect, 5km north of the Gonneville polymetallic deposit in Western Australia.

The ore was found at a depth of 88 m to 32 m (estimated true thickness of 22 m) with a combined grade of 2.2 g/t palladium, platinum and gold (3E), 0.2% nickel, 0.2% copper and 0.01% cobalt, i.e. 1% nickel equivalent grade; This included mineralization of 24 m thick (estimated true thickness 16.5 m), 2.6g/t 3E, 0.2% nickel, 0.2% copper, and 0.01% cobalt, or 1.2% nickel equivalent grade.
The ore was found at 133 m depth of 59.1 m (estimated true thickness of 40 m) with 3E grade of 1.3 g/t, nickel 0.1%, copper 0.1%, cobalt 0.01%, i.e., nickel equivalent grade of 0.7%; This includes mineralization of 28 m thick (estimated true thickness 19 m), 1.6 g/t 3E, 0.2% nickel, 0.2% copper, 0.01% cobalt, or 0.8% nickel equivalent grade.
The Goneville deposit has ore resources of 560 million tonnes at a 3E grade of 0.88g/t, nickel grade of 0.16%, copper grade of 0.09%, cobalt grade of 0.015%, i.e. nickel equivalent grade of 0.54%, or palladium equivalent grade of 1.7 g/t.
Both Goneville and Hawley are part of the Julimar project.
"Continued sightings of ultramafic intrusions from drilling further indicate the large scale of the Hurimar metallogenic system and the possibility of localized high grade mineralization," Charles said.
The company plans to drill further in Hawley and conduct preliminary drilling in the unproven Baudin-Jansz-Torres target.
Progress has also been made in edging drilling for the Goneville ore body. 125.8 m was drilled at 396 m with 3E grade of 2.8 g/t, nickel grade of 0.2%, copper grade of 0.2%, cobalt grade of 0.02%, i.e. 1.2% nickel equivalent grade. This includes mineralisation 34 m thick at 3E grade 7 g/t, 0.2% nickel, 0.6% copper and 0.02% cobalt, or 2.9% nickel equivalent grade.
Charles, which currently has four diamond RIGS in the Hurimar project, will continue to drill and will move forward with feasibility studies and also hopes to find a partner.
