PAM Mineral listed company (NICL) has assessed that there is a very good prospect for future nickel mining opportunities in Indonesia due to the high demand for nickel in the domestic market.
The state-owned PT Industri Battery Indonesia (IBC) electric vehicle Battery plant, in partnership with South Korea's LG consortium and China's CATL electric vehicle manufacturer, will break ground at the end of July 2021 and is expected to start operations in 2023. Therefore, low grade nickel ore is widely needed in battery factories to meet the demand for alloys based on cobalt metal.

On the other hand, the demand for high grade nickel has been increasing and is fairly steady, while the market for low grade nickel has also started to increase.
As exploration work continues, the Company believes that it and its subsidiaries will continue to have approximately 28 million tons of nickel resources in the future. But not all nickel ore is high grade. There is also low grade nickel ore.
