Jakarta: Indonesia will implement plans to ban exports of bauxite, cobalt and tin in June as part of a strategy to extract more economic benefits from its rich natural resources, energy and Mines Minister Arifin Tasrif said in an interview on Tuesday.
We are not allowed to export raw materials because the minerals are not renewable, Tasrif told a meeting of G7 climate, energy and environment ministers in Sapporo, northern Japan. We have 270 million people and it's growing every year. How can we meet their needs? We have to create jobs.

To create jobs, we must develop projects and economic activities.
Although we are not allowed to export raw materials, we welcome partners to work with us to create value together and then share the benefits.
