Sugeng Mujiyanto, Director General of Mining Management, Ministry of Energy and Mines of Indonesia, said in an interview that in order to promote the development of nickel smelting plants in Indonesia and assist Indonesian enterprises to get investment and build smelting plants, Ministry of Energy and Mines of Indonesia promotes and invites European and American investors to invest in nickel smelting plant projects in Indonesia.
The Ministry of Energy and Mines has now commissioned Houston-based MKU Inquiry to seek investors in the United States and European countries to finance smelter projects in Indonesia.
At the same time, the central government of Indonesia invited government agencies of European and American countries to encourage its enterprises to invest and build smelters in Indonesia.
At present, there are 30 projects of Indonesian ferric nickel smelting plant, of which only 13 projects have been completed and put into operation, and the other 17 projects have been suspended due to various reasons. According to the plan, by the end of 2023, 30 nickel smelting plant projects have been completed and put into operation, with a total investment of 21 billion US dollars.
