Joko said that thanks to Giant Dun Nickel for bringing smelting technology to Indonesia, the added value of nickel ore can be increased 14 times by processing it into nickel iron, and 19 times by further processing it into stainless steel. The production and sale of related products can also make a significant contribution to Indonesia's tax revenue and foreign exchange earnings. "We should also see that the Delong Industrial Park has created 27,000 local jobs, which is a remarkable number. Chinese enterprises will not only bring raw material processing and production technology to Indonesia, but also create more jobs for the local people. They will also promote the majority of small and medium-sized enterprises to welcome more business opportunities and promote the development of relevant industries in Indonesia and the local economy." Zonko said.

The Indonesian Giant Dun nickel project, invested and built by Jiangsu Delong Nickel Co., LTD., officially went into production on 13th of this month. With an investment of $1.8 billion, the project is expected to have an annual production capacity of 1.8 million tons of nickel and iron, and will be equipped with its own power plant, dock and other auxiliary facilities.

Joko's visit shows the great importance he attaches to the Belt and Road Initiative between China and Indonesia, and also fully recognizes the development of the Delong Industrial Park in Indonesia. Zhou Yuan, general manager of Delong Industrial Park in Indonesia, said the practice from construction to operation of the Industrial Park in Indonesia shows that the Belt and Road Initiative has won support from countries along the Routes, deepened the friendship between the people of China and countries along the routes, and promoted the economic development of the countries along the routes.
