Kemmer Lowered The Production Guidance For Titanium Iron Ore.

London, December 17th (Argus) - Kenmere Resources, which mainly operates in Mozambique's mineral resources, has once again lowered its 2025 titanium iron ore production guidance due to initial debugging failures in the A Wet Processing Facility (WCP A) upgrade project. The company today lowered its full-year production guidance to a minimum of 830,000 tons, further reducing it from the revised 870,000 - 905,000 tons in November, compared to its initial guidance of 930,000 - 1,050,000 tons. The Kenmere A Wet Processing Facility upgrade project is still in the process of debugging, but the increase in ore processing capacity has exposed the problem of fine mud handling. Fine mud is ultra-fine particles that can affect the feed speed and recovery rate. The company prioritizes solving this problem and does not consider additional production of titanium iron ore. The A Wet Processing Facility is expected to reach the rated capacity of 3,500 tons per hour in the first quarter of 2026. Previously, the company had indicated that the tailings treatment upgrade project that restricts processing capacity might cause this target to be postponed until 2026. The total project investment remains unchanged at $341 million. Additionally, as two batches of goods are likely to be completed for shipment in early 2026, the company has lowered its finished product shipment guidance from the original 1 million tons to approximately 980,000 tons.
