Vale has announced plans to cut emissions from its customers and suppliers by 15% by 2035

At a web conference for investors on December 2nd, Vale set a goal of reducing net emissions from "scope III", which generates emissions from customers and supply chains, by 15% by 2035.

The target uses 2018 as the base year for emissions from Vale's value chain of 586 million metric tons of CARBON dioxide equivalent.

The company expects this to fall to 496 million tonnes of CO2 equivalent by 2035, 90 million tonnes below 2018 levels -- equivalent to Chile's emissions for the whole of 2018, according to the INTERNATIONAL Energy Agency.

Brazil resumes uranium production

Gims news: Brazil's national Nuclear Corporation (INB) announced this week the production of enriched uranium for the first time since it stopped production in 2015.

Production will come from a new open-pit mine at the Caetite uranium processing plant in the north-eastern state of Bahia.

The INB communique said that the resumption of uranium mining was important for the enterprise itself and even for the country, and would boost local employment.

Eugenio will be able to produce 240 tons of uranium concentrate annually after full production.


Chile's state copper company will spend $210m to keep the mine running

Vietnam imported nearly 11 million tons of crude oil in the first 11 months

Vietnam customs Online reported on December 2 that Vietnam's imports of goods in November totaled $24.2 billion, down 0.5% from the previous month, the General Administration of Customs said.
