Freeport has reached copper treatment and refining fee agreements with Chinese companies

Port Hedland's iron ore exports to China fell to a nine-month low in November
Port Hedland exported 34,444,500 tonnes of iron ore to China in November, the lowest since March and down 6.66 per cent year on year and 13.28 per cent month on month, according to figures released by Australia's Pilbara Port Authority.
Port Hedland accounted for 82.8 per cent of its iron ore exports to China in November, its smallest monthly share so far this year.
Port Hedland is one of the world's largest iron ore export ports, through which Australian miners BHP Billiton, FORtesungand Roy Hill Holdings all export iron ore.
Anglo American's investment in Woodsmith increased to £374m

A fire has broken out in vale's New Caledonia mine
Vale said on Monday that a fire broke out at its nickel mining facility in New Caledonia amid local protests.
Vale said firefighters and armed forces were at the scene of the blaze overnight, but did not provide any details of possible damage or the fire situation.
The foreign-owned mine, and its possible sale to other foreign companies, have been the target of fierce protests by pro-independence groups in New Caledonia in recent months.
Copper Mountain takes action to cut carbon emissions

Codelco reached an agreement with the Ventanas trade union
Chilean copper company Codelco said Tuesday it had advanced labor agreements with two unions at Ventanas smelter and refinery.
The 36-month agreement between Codelco and Union I and the trade union Turnados will come into force in February and May, respectively.
During the COVID-19 outbreak, Codelco largely maintained production by reducing staff, adjusting work schedules and shelving projects at the peak of the epidemic.
Centinela copper mine reaches agreement with unions
Union leaders at Antofagasta's Centinela copper mine said on Tuesday the workers' union had avoided a strike by agreeing to a labor agreement with the company.
Last week, the company reached an agreement with Centinela's larger Union, Esperanza.
In 2019, Centinela produced 276,600 tonnes of copper.
Barrick began drilling at the Pueblo Grande project

Ethiopia's Ministry of Mines has revoked the mining licenses of 63 companies for breach of contracts, state television reported Tuesday.
A mining company whose mining license has been revoked violates the terms of the contract, fails to renew the license, or fails to pay the license fee, without providing a list of the companies involved.
