Lijin Resources announced that about the RKEF project of the company's OBI project located in Obi Island, Indonesia, eight nickel-iron production lines of the first phase of the company's RKEF project have completed equipment installation and commissioning, and will be put into operation at the end of May 2023.
The RKEF project plans a total of 20 nickel-iron production lines with a total designed annual capacity of 280,000 metal tons of nickel-iron. Among them, the first phase of the RKEF project plans eight nickel-iron production lines, with a total annual design capacity of 95,000 metal tons of nickel-iron; The additional 12 lines planned for Phase 2 of the RKEF project have a total designed annual capacity of 185,000 metal tons of ferro nickel.
The operation of eight nickel-iron production lines in phase I of the RKEF project marks the first time that the company has achieved overseas production capacity of thermal smelting, which is of milestone significance to the company. It further expands the production scale of thermal smelting, accelerates the development of thermal smelting business, enriches and improves the overall business layout of the company, and enhances the comprehensive competitiveness of the company in the market. It will have a positive impact on the future development of the company.
