Q: The National Development and Reform Commission and the National Food and Strategic Reserves Administration recently organized two batches of releases of copper, aluminum and zinc from the state reserves, which have achieved positive results. In the next step, will China continue to organize the release of national reserves?
A: According to the arrangements made at the Executive meeting of The State Council for ensuring supply and stabilizing prices of major commodities, the National Development and Reform Commission and the National Food and Strategic Reserves Administration released a total of 270,000 tons of copper, aluminum and zinc into the national reserve in two batches on July 5 and 29, which received good response from all sectors of society. At present, copper, aluminum, zinc and other prices are still high, some downstream small and medium-sized enterprises are still difficult to produce and operate. Going forward, we will continue to release copper, aluminum and zinc from the national reserve to ensure supply and stabilize prices of major commodities.
