NICL expects to achieve 70-90% of the company's nickel mine production target in 2021, said Suhatono, corporate secretary of PT PAM Mineral Tbk (NICL).
The production of NICL comes from two companies, namely NICL's own mining activities and the production of its subsidiary PT Indrabakti Mustika. It is understood that NICL holds 99.05% of Indrabakti Mustika through direct ownership. Indrabakti Mustika has a mining Operation licence (IUP) and production operations in a 576-hectare (HA) area in the Langgikima Subdivision of the Conaway Regent in northern Sulawesi. Indrabakti Mustika's IUP was approved on March 17, 2014 and is valid for 20 years.
Meanwhile, NICL has IUP production operations in 198 hectares of Buleleng and Laroenai villages in Bungku Pesisir subdivision of Morowali Regency in Central Sulawesi province. NICL IUP was approved on 17 February 2012 and is valid for 13 years.
NICL and its subsidiaries produce three grades of nickel ore, namely Ni1.7%, ni 1.3-1.49%, Fe> 30%, and NI1.2-1.3%. NICL's customers include PT Virtue Dragon Nickel Industry (VDNI), PT Indoferro, Qingshan Group, PT OSS and PT Huayue Nickel Cobalt.
NICL has set a production target of 1.3 million wet tons of nickel ore for 2021. As of the third week of November 2021, NICL nickel mine production reached 656,922.65 wet tons.
In addition, Suhatono said NICL will implement a number of strategies to stimulate production. One of the strategies adopted was to lower the Road height of several STA Mine Haul Road (MHR). In this way, NICL hopes to reduce the slippage in operations in order to overcome lost time while production is on track.
