Nigeria Woos Qatari Investors, Federal Government To Provide Lithium Reserves Data.

According to ripplesnigeria, Solid Minerals Development Minister Dele Alake said on Saturday that the federal government will provide comprehensive data on its minerals such as lithium reserves for investors' reference.

According to a statement issued by Kehinde Bamigbetan, Alake's special adviser on media issues, the statement was made following a meeting between Minister Alake and Qatari businessmen during President Tinubu's visit to the Gulf state.

Alake said mineral exploration initiated by the federal government has identified the location of a commercially viable high-grade lithium deposit.

Alake stressed that the data could help Qatari businessmen interested in setting up lithium companies in Nigeria.

In addition, he recalled a visit to Australia, where samples of rock composites from Nigeria confirmed the presence of high-grade lithium.

"This shows that the quality of Nigerian lithium mines has been recognized by the global mining industry," he said.

Alake said the Nigerian government has put in place generous investor-friendly policies to boost businesses in the country.

Also speaking at the event, Ms. Fatimah Shinkafi, Executive Secretary of the Solid Minerals Development Fund, urged investors to explore opportunities in the country's mining sector.
