London, May 18th (Argus) - Russian titanium industry giant VSMPO-Avisma will supply 150 tons of titanium tubes for the 480-megawatt El Dabaa nuclear power plant under construction in Egypt.
These titanium tubes will be used in the complete set of equipment for the 4th unit of the nuclear power plant. In March this year, the company officially achieved mass production of industrial pure titanium welded titanium tubes at its Upper Salda production base.
Industrial pure titanium has excellent corrosion resistance and is often used in heat exchange equipment, making it highly suitable for scenarios such as those in nuclear power plants that use seawater cooling.

The El Dabaa nuclear power plant in Egypt is being constructed by the Russian state-owned nuclear power company Rosatom. The first phase of the project is expected to be officially connected to the grid in 2028. The 4th unit of the nuclear power plant started construction in January 2024, and all four units are planned to be fully operational by 2030.
Previously, the company also supplied welded titanium tubes for the 4th unit of Turkey's first Russian-style nuclear power plant - the Akuyu Nuclear Power Plant.
