According to Xinhua News Agency, the opening ceremony of the four-day African Mining Investment Conference 2024 was held in Cape Town, South Africa's legislative capital, on the 5th.

Around the topic of "The New Future of African mining", heads of government, ministers and deputy ministers of many African countries and nearly 10,000 business representatives attended the discussion. More than 200 companies participated in the mining show.

In his opening speech, South African President Ramaphosa said that the African continent contains minerals that are crucial to the global energy transformation and has the potential to become the fulcrum of global energy transformation with mining as the core. This session of the Congress should give priority to how to use this transformation to inject new vitality into the mining industry and strengthen the mining value chain.

The African Mining Investment Conference was first held in 1994 and has grown to become one of the largest mining conferences in the world. The conference aims to bring together heads of government, mining industry organizations and mining related enterprises in Africa to discuss issues related to the development of the industry.
