On January 20, 2024 local time, the first batch of over 2,000 tons of ice nickel products from Zhongwei Indonesia Morovali Industrial Base was loaded at the park terminal and shipped to the domestic Qinzhou Port. After 10 days of sea voyage, the cargo ship arrived in Qinzhou, Guangxi on January 30, which is another raw material base successfully docking and realizing interconnection with Zhongwei Qinzhou Industrial Base after Zhongwei Indonesia Weidabai industrial Base, further connecting the company's domestic and international dual-cycle industrial layout, helping Zhongwei to steadily enhance its global supply chain and market competitiveness.

The first batch of ice nickel shipped back to China at Morovali Industrial Base fully shows that Zhongwei Indonesia OESBF project is gradually realizing project benefits and becoming another guarantee channel for core metal raw materials such as nickel and cobalt of Zhongwei. Since the world's first OESBF production line for the preparation of low-ice nickel from laterite nickel ore in Molovali Industrial Base in Indonesia was put into operation, after continuous debugging and optimization, the production line has entered the stage of "mass production and stable production", marking that Zhongwei has become the first enterprise in the world to master the process of smelting laterite nickel ore.
As one of the three major processes for smelting laterite nickel ore in the world, compared with other processes, OESBF process has considerable advantages in energy consumption and carbon emissions, production capacity, raw material adaptability and so on. In terms of energy consumption, the OESBF process has no "heat-electric-thermal" conversion process, and the energy utilization efficiency is higher. In terms of production capacity and raw material adaptability, the process has low requirements for grade, moisture and particle size of laterite nickel ore, rapid response, high unit productivity, nickel recovery up to 93%, and can recover associated cobalt to maximize the value of mineral resources. In terms of emissions, the process smelting slag can be used for building materials, no environmental pollution risk, to achieve reuse, the total process dust collection rate of 99.94%, desulfurization rate of more than 99%.
According to the plan, Morovali Industrial base will build a total of 6 OESBF production lines, of which two production lines in the first phase of the project have been completed and put into operation, each production line can achieve an annual output of 10,000 metal tons of nickel. In 2024, Morovali Industrial Base will take "achieving production and efficiency" as the goal, further mobilize the enthusiasm of Chinese and Indonesian employees, give full play to the core values of "realistic, innovative, enterprising and win-win", comprehensively promote the comprehensive efficiency of the project, and give play to the maximum potential of the process.
With the operation of the three major industrial bases of Molovali, Weidabei and North Molovali in Zhongwei Indonesia region, the core nickel metal raw materials of new energy materials of Zhongwei Shares will also be continuously transported back to China, forming a trans-regional integrated industrial complex with major industrial bases of Zhongwei in China to achieve international production.
