The United States Is Once Again Conducting An Auction For Bismuth.

HOUSTON, December 17th (Argus) - The US Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), an agency under the US Department of Defense, issued a tender on December 15th, seeking to acquire 79,390 pounds of bismuth metal within two years. This tender is smaller than the one DLA cancelled in October.
The agency is seeking 99.99% metallic bismuth ingots or plates and will deliver them to the Army Depot in Hawthorn, Nevada. Proposals are due to be submitted to DLA on December 24th.
Before this new tender, DLA had initiated a tender for bismuth metal in August, seeking to acquire 5.2 million pounds of defense reserves over five years. According to the then fixed-price contract, the minimum guaranteed amount was $3 million and the maximum was $65 million. However, the agency cancelled this tender in October.
The latest tender in December does not specify a minimum or maximum value.
