Thiess has signed a A $240 million nickel mining contract with PT Halmahera Sukses Mineral, marking Thiess 'second successful investment in Indonesia's nickel market this year and reflecting its ability to provide world-class mining solutions to the metals industry.
Under the 3.5-year contract, Thiess will provide full mining operations, including mine development, transport road construction, ore loading and transportation. The mine is located in Central Hamahera, North Maluku, just 6 km from another Thiess operation, thus consolidating its regional footprint and operational efficiency.
