Indonesia's Minister of Investment coordination Luhute said in an interview that freeport of the United States and Aoyama China are planning to cooperate in the construction of a copper and nickel smelting plant in Aoyama Vidabay Industrial Park in Indonesia.
Last night, Minister Luhute witnessed the talks between THE US Free Port and Aoyama China in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Both sides of the chairman agreed to plan to start construction in early 2021 and put into operation in 2023.
The smelter will produce copper-nickel alloys and, as a by-product, sulphide, which will be used in lithium-sulphur batteries.
Luhute said that this is a big project in Indonesia, China and the United States. He believes it will drive relevant industries in Indonesia and promote the development of Indonesia's new energy automobile industry.
