The construction of the Bomby copper-cobalt mine project started at the end of May 2019, and the commissioning trial was launched on August 25, 2020. The first batch of copper cathodes was successfully produced on September 13. The main project construction took only 15 months, and the commissioning trial took only 19 Day, once again vividly demonstrated China's efficiency and Wanbao mineral strength.
Since February 2020, the new crown pneumonia epidemic has raged around the world. The epidemic has caused many difficulties such as delays in equipment delivery, closure of South African ports, reduced logistics efficiency, interruption of international flights, and shortage of construction personnel. Commissioning has brought unprecedented challenges. The successful production of the first batch of copper cathodes from Bomby’s copper-cobalt mine project is a vivid manifestation of all participating units overcoming difficulties, forging ahead in unity, sticking to the front line overseas, demonstrating sense of responsibility and enterprising consciousness.
