The development advantages of robots in the palletizing industry

Currently, user enterprises usually adopt four types of palletizing methods for palletizing: one is the manual palletizing method; the second is the traditional palletizing machine; the third is palletizing using palletizing robots; and the fourth is using fully automated palletizing equipment for palletizing. At present, the traditional palletizing machines are more widely used by enterprises, but from the perspective of development trends, the development of palletizing robots cannot be underestimated.

Regarding the palletizing robot

The palletizing robot has strong operational flexibility and is usually located at the rear end of the production line. It is used to handle small quantities and various types of pallets, and is a device that lies between traditional palletizing machines and fully automated palletizing machines. With the continuous improvement of the reliability and other performance of the palletizing robot system, it has now to some extent been able to compete with the fully automated random storage palletizing system.

There are various types of robot palletizers, but they can generally be classified into two categories: fixed base type and pedestal type. The pedestal type robots are usually suspended on the crossbeam at the top of the pedestal or large support frame, and they occupy more space than the fixed base type. The pedestal type robots can handle 20 different pallets and are particularly suitable for end users such as chewing gum and tobacco manufacturers. Compared with the fixed base palletizing robots, the pedestal type robots can handle heavier loads, are more expensive, have a slower production speed, occupy more space, and are suitable for large boxes and low-capacity production lines.

Compared with traditional palletizing equipment, the palletizing robot has more advantages.

When end users choose a palletizing equipment, they usually hesitate between traditional palletizing machines and palletizing robots.

Due to space limitations, some factories cannot install traditional palletizing machine systems and can only install palletizing robots. A crossbeam or a pillar in the factory, or the lack of sufficient space at the end of the production line, will prevent the factory from installing traditional palletizing machines; for robots, as long as they are given enough space so that they can reach the production line, it will be fine.
