HOUSTON, January 12th (Argus) - Lilac of the United States and Traxys North America announced today the conclusion of a binding lithium supply agreement. The product is the lithium carbonate production of Lilac in Utah.
According to the agreement, Traxys will purchase 5,000 tons of lithium carbonate per year over a period of 10 years, which will cover 100% of the first-phase production capacity of Lilac Company.
The price is linked to the market index. The first batch of lithium products is planned to be put into production in 2027.
The "Great Salt Lake" factory of Lilac in Utah plans to produce 5,000 tons of battery-grade lithium carbonate per year in the initial stage, using ion exchange technology to directly extract lithium elements. It is expected to undergo an expansion, at which point the total lithium carbonate production capacity will increase to 20,000 tons per year.

Lilac is collaborating with state government regulatory agencies to complete the licensing approval work required for construction and operation.
The company's headquarters is located in Oakland, California, and its lithium factory is located in Fernley, Nevada for production.
Its ion exchange technology successfully recovered 87% of lithium from extremely low-grade brine in the pilot operation in 2025.
