The Australian government is currently consulting with industry, experts and other stakeholders to update Australia's list of key minerals. The list of key minerals will be updated by the end of the year and priority will be given to supporting key mineral projects.

Minister for Resources and Minister for Northern Australia, Madeleine King, said the Key Minerals Strategy released last month made it clear that by 2030, Australia will be a global supplier of raw materials and processed key minerals, and the Australian government is working to develop the key minerals industry and integrate the country into the global key minerals supply chain. At the same time, she said updating the critical minerals list would ensure the government could support the development of the industry and help Australia work with international partners to build stronger global supply chains.
