France's Eramet Nickel Manganese Production Increased in The First Half.

Argus Metals, French mining company Eramet's latest report shows that the company's nickel and manganese production increased in the first half of 2021.

At the New Caledonia project, nickel ore production rose slightly to 2.3 million tons from 2.2 million tons a year earlier, while ferronickel production fell 22.2 percent year-on-year to 18,500 tons. Unrest and a blockade in New Caledonia at the end of last year affected production, Eramet said.

At the Veidawan project in Indonesia, nickel production rose to 6.99 million tonnes from 1.26 million tonnes a year earlier, while nickel-iron alloy production climbed to 20,100 tonnes, up from 44,500 tonnes.

At the Sanduville plant in Normandy, production of nickel salt and high purity nickel increased 32.4 per cent year-on-year to 4900 tonnes. In the first half, 3.1 million tons of manganese ore were produced, an increase of 12.5 percent from the same period last year, due to the growth of mining projects in Gabon.
