Guangxi Helped South Africa Discover Large Manganese And Iron Ore Deposits Of About 180 Million Tons.

South Africa's Northern Cape province has made a new breakthrough in mineral prospecting, the Guangxi Geological Survey said Monday. It estimated that the two mining areas contain nearly 80m tonnes of manganese and more than 100m tonnes of iron ore

The high silicon and manganese ore project of Postmastburg mining area in South Africa is an overseas mineral exploration project targeted by Guangxi Geological Survey Institute in December 2020.

In order to speed up the completion of the project, before the end of the Chinese Lunar New Year on February 23, 2021, Guangxi Geological Survey Institute organized a team to go to Postmasburg to conduct a detailed investigation on the preliminary exploration projects of the two mining areas.

With the efforts of all the geological team members, the project has basically completed the exploration task of the first stage. The project team has a preliminary understanding of the age, sequence, lithology, thickness, occurrence and distribution characteristics of the inner strata in the two mining areas, as well as the structural characteristics in the mining areas and their spatial relationship with the regional structure.

The occurrence position, shape, occurrence, thickness and variation rule of iron and manganese ore bed are preliminarily understood, and the continuity of ore bed, rock inclusion and distribution in ore bed are roughly understood.

It is reported that the high silicon-manganese ore exploration project in the Postmarsburg mining area of South Africa aims to study the mineralization geological conditions, distribution rules and enrichment characteristics of manganese ore through field survey and data collection, so as to evaluate the mineralization prospect and form investment suggestions.
