SANTO DOMINGO, March 26 (Argus) - On Thursday, the Supreme Court of Mexico upheld the reform of the 2022 Mining Law, confirming that the state will continue to fully own all lithium reserves.



SANTO PAULO, March 26th (Argus) - On Thursday, the Supreme Court of Mexico upheld the reform of the 2022 Mining Law, confirming that the state will continue to fully own all lithium reserves.The ruling also concluded that establishing lithium projects does not require consultation with indigenous and Afro-Mexican communities.
According to data from the US Geological Survey, Mexico's measured equivalent resources of lithium carbonate amount to 1.7 million tons, ranking ninth globally.
