Western Areas, an Australian nickel miner, reported third-quarter production at its Forrestania mine of 3,741 tonnes, down 23.8% from the previous quarter, reflecting a grade change at the Flying Fox mine and the addition of lower grade Areas. Nickel concentrate production was 3,804 tonnes, down 17.7% from the previous month, also affected by low grade ore and low recovery. Nickel mine sales were 3,962 tons, down 4.5% month-on-month.
