PT Anugrah Tompira Nickel (PT ATN) has temporarily suspended its nickel mining activities in Masama District, Bangai District.
This temporary suspension was decided by PT ATN as the management of the company's continuous permit or terminal in Ranga-ranga village has not yet been completed.

PT ATN is said to have temporarily suspended its nickel mining activities on its own initiative pending the finalization of the license.
As a result, the company invited a number of local government departments to hold a coordination meeting on July 19, 2023 at the Piongo Restaurant in Poroan village, Ramallah district.

Kapolsek Lamala AKP Zulfikar confirmed that PT ATN's nickel mining activities have been suspended. He explained that the meeting was held in accordance with the letter of invitation dated 17 July 2023, ATN number: 017/ATN/SP/VIL/2023. This coordination meeting relates to the temporary suspension of PT ATN due to the fact that a terminal or special terminal (suspension) permit has not been completed or has not yet been issued.
AKP Zulfikar added that the company sought suggestions and opinions from each participant, such as the impact of the cessation of mining activities on employees, and a request for support from villages around the mine regarding the ownership of the terminal.
AKP Zulfikar then explained what obstacles were in his request for permission documents that had not yet been completed in order to coordinate with relevant parties. It is hoped that the government and ATN can work together to speed up the process of obtaining a license.
The Ramallah police chief also asked the village chief to tell the community or company employees to be patient. "Wait for the company to deal with the ongoing permit or the terminal to be completed and continue to maintain the Kamtibmas situation," he appealed.
