On August 6, at the invitation of the Serbian presidential Palace, 40 female employees of Zijin Mining Serbia Project Company attended the "Mining Festival" celebration and were warmly received by President Vucic.
President Vucic thanked everyone for their hard work and pointed out that Zijin mining is now the largest exporter in Serbia and will make an even greater contribution with the construction of the Paige copper mine. Serbia's biggest export companies are from the mining sector, and its best export results are from the mining sector, which is expected to account for 3.5-4% of GDP in the next few years, up from 1.9% now.
Serbia is an important strategic investment area of Zijin Mining in Europe, with two enterprises, Zijin Copper and Zijin Mining. Zijin Mining acquired RTB Pol of Serbia in 2018, which employed 5,715 employees and increased their average salary by 45%. Among them, Zijin Copper Industry of Serbia was an old enterprise with more than 5000 people, but it was in the red for a long time. After zijin team got involved, it applied the mining engineering management mode of "five rings of ore flow to be unified" to comprehensively improve the management and technical level, and turned the loss into profit in less than half a year, and is currently promoting technical reform and expansion. Zijin's core asset is the Chukalu-Paige copper and gold mine, which entered the pilot production phase in June this year and is expected to achieve a smooth transition from mining infrastructure to production operation in September.
Zijin mining in two projects adhere to the "common development" concept of globalization and the green concept of sustainable development, actively practicing environmental, social and governance (ESG) control requirements, the high standards to promote safety, environmental protection and green ecological construction, actively fulfill the social responsibility at the same time, attaches great importance to labor rights protection, two enterprises accounted for about 1/6 of women employees, There are many women in important positions.
