Sudan Signs 9 Mining Rights Agreements

According to Reuters, the Sudanese government signed nine mining rights agreements with eight foreign and domestic companies in mid-June. Sudan's minerals minister, Mohamed Bashir Abdalla, revealed that all but one of the deals were related to gold. Three companies from Iraq, China and South Africa have been awarded four gold rights, one company from Armenia has been awarded one copper right and four local companies have been awarded four gold rights. All the mineral rights are in Red Sea, Western Kordofan and Northern states.
