London, June 16th (Argus) - Argus' assessment on June 16th for the 99.9% rhenium powder price was USD 2,680 - 2,790 per pound CIF Rotterdam, higher than USD 2,650 - 2,770 per pound on June 9th, due to the sellers maintaining quotations above USD 6,000 per kilogram, although most end-users' demand was concentrated in the United States.

The price of the catalyst-grade ammonium paratungstate with a minimum 69.4% rhenium content remained stable at USD 5,400 - 5,800 per kilogram, as Chinese buyers were largely absent from the market. Considering the large price gap between APR and rhenium powder, new inquiries are expected to support the price increase of APR.
The price of tantalum concentrate (tantalite ore) as assessed by Argus remained unchanged at USD 220 - 250 per pound CIF major ports based on cost and freight. The price offered by traders to Chinese smelters for Rwandan raw materials was approximately USD 220 - 230 per pound, while the price for non-Rwandan raw materials was firm above USD 240 per pound. Despite the low offer from Chinese smelters, the price has remained at this level due to the firm cost of reclamation in Rwanda.
The price of European metal tantalum remained stable at USD 800 - 850 per kilogram CIF Rotterdam warehouse due to firm quotations. A trader purchased raw materials at approximately USD 800 per kilogram last week and quoted between USD 800 - 825 per kilogram this week. The spot delivery price was as high as USD 850 per kilogram.
