PT Vale Indonesia said Tuesday that nickel matte production in the January-September period fell 13% from a year earlier.
Production of nickel matte in January-September was 48,373 tons, down from 55,792 tons in the same period last year, with the decline due to maintenance work in the first quarter of this year, the company said in a statement. Nickel matte production in the third quarter was 18,127 tons, down 6.9% year-on-year but up 20% from the previous quarter.
