Brazilian mining company Vale said it had again halted operations at its Onca Puma nickel mine after the state of Para received a judicial order to reinstate the suspension. Onca Puma's operations were suspended for the first time in early October due to alleged non-compliance with local regulations. They resumed operations on October 7 after a court granted a license to operate. Now a higher court has overturned the earlier decision. Vale produced 16,000 tonnes of nickel in Brazil in 2020.
