In a written statement dated November 9, PT Vale Indonesia Tbk Managing Director Dani Widjaja said: "The company and two partners, Taiyuan Iron & Steel (Group) Co., Ltd. and Shandong Xinhai Technology Co., LTD., signed the cooperation framework agreement on the nickel smelter construction project in Morowali County, Jiangsu Province in June this year." He explained that the project's research activities were nearing completion and the licensing process was being completed. Technically, companies want mining to proceed smoothly and shareholders to get a greater return on their investment.
The planned nickel smelter in Central Jiangsu province consists of eight rotary kiln electric furnace process (RKEF) production lines and is expected to produce 73,000 tonnes of nickel per year with supporting facilities.
