Brazil's Vale said it had resumed operations at its Totten nickel mine and was in the process of increasing production, following an incident in September 2021 that left 39 workers trapped in the mine and led to the closure of operations.
Vale said the shutdown at Totten had been factored into its plans for the 2022 financial year and had no impact on its nickel production guidance of 175,000 to 190,000 tonnes.
