On April 21, BHP billiton released its nickel production report for the first quarter. It produced 18,700 tonnes of nickel in the first quarter, down 13% from the previous quarter and 8% from the same period last year, due to labor shortages caused by COVID-19. The full-year 2022 production target has been reduced from 85-95,000 tonnes to 80,000-85,000 tonnes, mainly due to covid-19-related Labour constraints.
