On January 25th, the construction of the first section of the OBI Ferro-Nickel project in Indonesia, contracted by MCC International, officially started.
The Obi Ferro-Nickel Project in Indonesia is located in the Oi Island mining area in North Maluku Province.
The project adopts fire process and designs 8 RKEF ferro-nickel production lines with an annual output of 900,000 tons of ferro-nickel.
The construction of the first section of the project includes 4 production lines, including: main construction of the workshop, process equipment, automation control, civil construction and installation of the road, public auxiliary facilities in the factory, trial run, guarantee transportation and other engineering contents.
The construction period is 400 days.
According to Mysteel, the newly built RKEF ferrinickel project is jointly invested and constructed by Ningbo Liqin Mining Co., Ltd. and Indonesia Halida Mining Co., Ltd. Due to the impact of the epidemic, the overall construction progress of its eight RKEF new ferrinickel production lines has slowed down in 2020, and it is now expected to be put into production in the first quarter of 2022.
