Indonesia's production of iron and nickel rose to 1.18 million tons in the january-September period, up from 1.07 million tons a year earlier, according to data released Tuesday by the Ministry of Energy and Mines. The country produced 640,400 tons of nickel pig iron in january-September, down from 645,490 tons a year earlier, the data also showed. In january-September, the country produced 60,800 tons of nickel matte, down from 70,940 tons in the same period last year. Indonesia produced 216,600 tonnes of cathode copper in the january-September period, down slightly from 216,730 tonnes a year earlier. The country produced 23,800 tonnes of refined tin in the first nine months of the year, down sharply from 43,180 tonnes in the same period last year.
