HOUSTON, July 7th (Argus) - US-based mining company and processor US Silver Corporation (USAC) announced today that it expects to commence production at its newly-acquired Redstone Critical Minerals Flotation Plant in Montana in mid-July. The company stated that once its laboratory at the plant is fully operational, the plant will start producing refined antimony.
The company acquired this flotation facility for $4.75 million in January this year, aiming to process antimony ore and open the door for processing other strategic metals.
USAC invested approximately $2 million to build a new laboratory in Redstone, upgrade equipment and renovate the beneficiation plant.
The acquisition of Redstone will end USAC's reliance on third-party beneficiation plants. Before obtaining the new beneficiation plant, the company had been renting third-party flotation sites.
The company plans to process approximately 800 metric tons of antimony ore mined in the Stibnite Mountain mining area of Thompson Falls, Montana last autumn. The company regained the mining rights adjacent to its smelting business in Montana in July 2025.
The refined ore produced will be sent to USAC's smelting plant for the production of antimony metal, antimony trioxide and antimony disulfide.
